Phase 11 of South Pars Enters the Production Circuit after 2 Decades

Referring to the measures taken in South Pars and other fields to increase gas production, the CEO of National Iranian Oil Company said: Phase 11 of South Pars will enter the production circuit in February this year after 2 decades.

According to the information base of Pars Special Region,

Mohsen Khojstehmehr today evening (Friday, December 9, 2022) in the closing ceremony of the sixth documentary television festival in Asalouyeh region, pointed out that the oil industry is the driving force of the country's economy, and added: What we are seeing in the South Pars region is the result of an investment of 85 billion dollars over two decades, and this is one of the prides of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 This ceremony was held in the presence of Peyman Jebeli, the head of the Broadcasting Organization, after visiting the drilling rig located at position 11B. 

The Deputy Oil Minister announced the daily production of more than 700 million cubic meters of gas from South Pars and added: More than 70% of the country's gas is produced from this common field.

Citing the statements of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution that production is Jihad, she clarified: Now a project worth 27 billion dollars is being implemented in the upstream part of the South Pars region.

Khojstemehr considered the protection of gas reserves as an important mission and said: "We at the National Oil Company are responsible for the important task of production, and people also play an important and special role in the protection of gas reserves in the direction of optimal consumption and saving."

Referring to an important jihadist action in phase 11, the Deputy Minister of Oil said: This phase remained undecided for years and no action has been taken in the last 8 years. The contract with an international company in the past also did not lead to a specific result due to sanctions, and that foreign company also withdrew from the contract.

Khojstemehr continued: But in the 13th government, urgent measures were taken in this sector and now the drilling of 4 gas wells has been completed.

Pointing out that 2 rows of South Pars Gas Refinery Phase 14 have reached the sweetening stage, Khojstemehr clarified: The development of Bilal common field, which is located in the continuation of South Pars Gas Field, has also started.

The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company continued: One of the gas platforms in the South Pars field, which had been suspended since 2014 and its production was stopped, the repair work of its wells has been launched by the Khatam-ul-Anbiya construction site.

Referring to the start of executive operations for the development of the North Pars gas field, Khojstemehr said: With the development of the Kish field and the development of 13 gas fields in the onshore sector and numerous other fields, 500 million cubic meters will be added to the country's gas production in the coming years.

According to this report, at noon today, the head of the Broadcasting Organization and the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company visited the development projects of South Pars and the drilling rig located in phase 11.
