The National Petrochemical Company makes its largest investment in South Pars Especial Economic Zone.
The National Petrochemical Company’s CEO in an exclusive interview with Pars Special Economic Energy Zone’s Information Center correspondent said: “in the third four-year Iran’s development plan The National Petrochemical Company will invest $12.5 billion in South Pars and the investment will turn to $24 billion in 10 years.” Qolam Hussein Nejabat , The National Petrochemical Company’s CEO , expressed:” 16 plans in South Pars , 9 in West ethylene line , 3 in Mahshahr and some in Zanjan , Golestan and Shiraz are going to be finished soon.” Iranian oil minister deputy announced 5 petrochemical complexes are going to be operative until September that means in average we have two plans in each month, ”The National Petrochemical Company is investing $8 billion in the 1st phase and $9 billion in the 2nd phase and counting $3 billion in other industries, the entire amount of investment would be more than $20 billion” Hussein Nejabat said; he also added:” the most important pillars of petrochemical export in South Pars Especial Energy Zone are Polyethylene, Ammonia, Urea and Methanol units.” Hussein Nejabat mentioned to Minister’s vitiation of Urea unit, Qadir Ammonia, Zagros Petrochemical which are all under contracture and said oil minister also visited the 5th and the 11th Olefin projects. 7% of all foreign investments have been invested in petrochemical sector; The National Petrochemical Company is going to reach 1517 million tones in 2010, which shows 406 percent growth. Iran is providing 3.8 percent of petrochemical production in the world and if the National Petrochemical Company achieves its goal in 2010, Iran will produce 14 percent of petrochemical productions.
