ASSALUYEH – The giant South Pars Gas Field has the potential to produce 300 million cubic meters of natural gas, the managing-director of South Pars Gas Plant has said.
Ali-Akbar shabanpour told a symposium of oil and gas managers in Assaluyeh that the expected gas recovery would become possible if the country’s oil fields are injected enough gas. “The daily gas recovery from South Pars has reached 280 million cubic meters – 192 million cubic meters of which are pumped into national gas network,” he said. The official added that eight gas refineries would become operational once Phases 15, 16, 17 and 18 of South Pars come on-stream. He noted that the operation of these phases would result in the recruitment of 652 new employees. He appreciated newly appointed Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi for his efforts to promote the quality of manpower in the oil and gas sectors. At present, 2,800 employees are active n south Pars Gas Plant.
