Iran Eyes 150k b/d Crude Output from South Azadegan by February

The CEO of the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) said production of Crude oil from the joint South Azadegan Oilfield would reach 150,000 b/d once 35 newly-drilled wells come online by February 2019.

According to PEDEC website, Touraj Dehghani said the wells were planned to come on-stream by February 11 to mark the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

He also stated that a mobile petroleum processing unit would also be launched in the field which would add roughly 50,000 b/d to its production capacity.

Iran is currently producing 100,000 b/d of Crude oil from the field which it shares with Iraq. Last year, 50 new wells were drilled in the field, adding 30,000 b/d to South Azadegan’s production capacity.

Development of the field is a major national project whose wherewithal was supplied domestically, Dehghani added.
