NPC Endorses Protectionism: Official

An official with the National Petrochemical Company ( NPC) said the company was keen on facilitating supply of petrochemical items and equipment from domestic manufacturers.

According tothe company, Ghodratollah Farajpour, the director of production control at NPC,said plans were devised by NPC to maximize provision of items and equipmentfrom domestic manufacturers in the petrochemical industry.

 

Heunderlined the necessity of supporting domestic producers, saying NPC had takencomprehensive measures in this regard to support Iranian manufacturers, Shanawrote.

 

The officialsaid a list of items needed in the sector was provided and based on thepriorities of the sector, items would be supplied.

 

Farajpourfurther said that purchasing foreign-made items was banned in the sector ifthey could be domestically manufactured domestically.
