During his tour to Assaluyeh, ghasemi will visit the South pars phases 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 plus meeting with the operators in the region.
Earlier the minister of petroleum had declared development of shared oil and gas fields as his top priority.
On August 3 during his speech at parliament as nominee for taking over ministry of petroleum, ghasemi had said Iran was shared with its neighbors in five gas fields and 17 onshore and offshore oil fields. ghasemi added despite recent years’ investments especially by the current government, our oil and gas withdrawal from the fields is not enough yet.
Also during his introduction ceremony as minister of petroleum, ghasemi said one of his main reasons for taking over the ministry of petroleum was to develop oil fields mainly shared oil fields.
He referred to development of South Pars gas field and shared oil fields with Iraq as the most important steps needed to be taken in this regard.
ghasemi is accompanied by managing directors of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Oil Industries’ Engineering and Construction (OIEC), Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) and human resources director at the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) in his travel to Assaluyeh.
