Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said Oil was discovered in the country's southwestern Abadan region for the first time.

Field-oriented agreements with universities are the turning point in cooperation between the petroleum industry and universities. That started in 2014 and currently nine operating Oil fields are exposed to such cooperation for the purpose of enhanced recovery. Previously, universities were individually involved in industrial projects, but under this agreement, the universities are recognized as an element of research projects.

The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) subsidiaries signed 9 Contracts with local developers for maintaining and enhancing the production capacity of a number of Iranian Oil and gas fields.

The offshore section of TurkStream or Turkish Stream, a natural Gas pipeline running from Russia to Turkey, was recently finalized in the presence of Russian and Turkish presidents in Istanbul. The project crossed its most significant phase.

An official with the National Iranian Drilling Company said 10 Drilling Rigs belonging to his company were being operated in new projects.

Sarv Oil & Gas Industries Development Company, assisted by Morvarid Petrochemicals Company (MPC), has developed the technical know-how of producing a Strategic Catalyst used in acetylene hydrogenation.
