Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum prioritized to protect environment in the South Pars projects, managing director of the Pars Especial Economic Energy Zone ( PSEEZ) told in a meeting with environment NGOs.
Managing director of PSEEZ, Mehdi Yousefi, in a meeting with environment and natural resources NGOs on Tuesday (19 April 2015) said that clean and green environment, and protecting it is what all people demand, “this is what human enjoy from.”
Yousefi stated the PSEEZ’s contribution to the GDP, and said: “this giant energy project was formed to develop the South Pars fields. With nearly 29 refinery phases and 27 petrochemical complexes it has employed over 56 thousands directly.”
“After completing all the development phases, considering USD 50 per barrel of oil price, country would earn over USD 110 billion in oil revenues from South Pars. This shows the remarkable role of PSEEZ nationally and internationally,” he added.
Mentioning the international standards and regulations on environment, Yousefi said that Iran would take all necessary steps to protect the environment.
