The president was welcomed by Minister of Petroleum Seyed Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh, National Petrochemical Company Managing Director Gholam-Hossein Nejabat, Pars Oil and Gas Company ,Managing Director Akbar Torkan, Pars Special Economic Energy Zone Organization Managing Director Seyed Abdoljalil Razavi, Assalouyeh Friday prayer leader, and a number of oil officials at the Persian Gulf International Airport.
During Ahmadinejad’s Monday visit, the groundbreaking ceremonies of refineries of phases 15-16 and 17-18 of South Pars field are held.
Pars Special Economic Energy Zone will include 28 gas refineries, 25 petrochemical complexes, and three liquefied natural gas (LNG) units.
Five gas refineries, Pars Petrochemical Complex, producer of ethane, Zagros Petrochemical Complex, producer of methane, Mobin Petrochemical Complex, supplier of subsidiary facilities of petrochemical complexes of the first site have become so far operational.
